Well the new lift worked great. The front blinkers are on. Couldn't take the forks down. The nuts were on too tight. So I told my SO I wished he could snap the bracketts off. He looked at me and said if you don't want them I can. I told him to go for it. Snap! No damage to the forks. New bracketts went on great. Fender rails come off tonight. Taking them to the guy that customizes HD tomorrow. He'll drill new holes to move the back blinkers back to make room for saddlebags. He won't guarantee they won't spider because "he's not used to working with anything other than HD parts". I asked him if he drills chrome normally. He said "all the time". We'll I'll take the chance. He almost wouldn't do it but when he found out I was the girl with the Jap bike he helped last summer, he agreed. Told my SO I'll have to take an extra 10 minutes doing my hair and getting all gussied up and be nice to the HD man. I told him I would only bring the rails in and not the bike so he wouldn't have a Jap bike in his shop. He's never worked on a Jap bike in all his 30-40 years he's been working on bikes, you know.
